Markus Lange-Hegermann

Professor Markus Lange-Hegermann promovierte 2014 in algorithmischer Differentialalgebra an der RWTH Aachen. Während er in der Industrie arbeitete, lernte er Datenwissenschaften und maschinelles Lernen lieben. Er ist Professor für Mathematik und Datenwissenschaften (seit 2018) an der TH OWL und Vorstandsmitglied des Instituts für industrielle Informationstechnik (inIT). Er forscht im Bereich des probabilistischen maschinellen Lernens und interessiert sich für industrielle Anwendungen. Diese finden oft in datenbasierter Modellung und nachfolgender Optimierung, insbesondere von zeitabhängigen Prozessen, unter Unsicherheiten und unter Berücksichtung von pyhsikalischem Vorwissen gegeben durch Differentialgleichungen. Er liebt Hackathons im Bereich der Datenwissenschaften, eine algebraische Sichtweise auf maschinelles Lernen und den Satz von Bayes.
