Take off with women power! Information day for women in Lippe

The Lippe Info Day for Women on April 22, 2023 was a complete success. Throughout the morning, women from very different backgrounds gathered information on professional topics at the premises of the Gilde Center Detmold.

Dissatisfied in your job? Reintegration after family phase? Possibilities for further education? Or the preparation of an application? Visitors were able to get answers to all these questions at the information day for women under the theme "Career + Family". The TH OWL has made it its business to help women who need support when returning to work, gaining further qualifications or reorienting themselves professionally. There was a particularly high demand for information this year on topics related to civil engineering, sustainability, biology and psychology.

Natalia Moriz, board member at the Institute for Industrial Information Technology (inIT) at TH OWL, supports the program and is the contact person for the "Re-entry Program for Women Engineers" measure. She was also available to answer questions this year at the Women's Info Day in Detmold, which was initiated by the W Network. During the info day, there was a morning long opportunity to get specific information and to exchange and network with other women in a similar situation.

The event was colorfully designed and offered a whole morning of very different presentations and workshops. From recognizing and using one's own strengths for a new career start, to a guide for (online) job interviews, to tips and tricks for better self-esteem. In addition to the workshops, there was also the opportunity to have job application photos taken or to have one's own application professionally reviewed. "For me, it was visible this year that many visitors had concrete ideas of what they were looking for. Then a consultation makes much more joy and brings much more. Next year, I will be happy to represent TH OWL at this event as well," says a pleased Natalia Moriz.

In addition to TH OWL, the Federal Employment Agency, the district of Lippe, the equal opportunity offices of the district of Lippe and the Fair Frau und Arbeit in der Region advice and coordination office were also represented as organizers.
