From July 15 to 17, 2026, Dr. Mohsen Kazemian, senior researcher in the Computer Networks research group led by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite, presented the latest research results from inIT at the IEEE 15th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP 2026) at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
An International Platform for Communication Systems and Signal Processing
CSNDSP is one of the established international IEEE conferences in the fields of communication systems, communication networks and digital signal processing. Researchers from academia and industry discussed the latest developments in wireless communications, signal processing, networking technologies and the next generation of mobile communications, 6G. Alongside technical sessions, the conference featured keynote presentations by internationally renowned experts and offered numerous opportunities for scientific exchange.
inIT Research on AI-Based Channel Prediction for 6G
At CSNDSP 2026, Dr. Mohsen Kazemian and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite presented the paper "A Conditional Variational Framework for Channel Prediction in High-Mobility 6G OTFS Networks."
The research introduces a novel AI-based approach for predicting wireless communication channels in highly dynamic 6G environments. To achieve this, the researchers developed a Conditional Variational Autoencoder (CVAE) model capable of predicting future channel characteristics before they occur. The model incorporates both physical system parameters and the uncertainties inherent in rapidly changing wireless environments.
Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms existing learning-based methods, particularly under high Doppler frequencies and longer prediction horizons. These findings highlight the potential of the developed model to improve the prediction of Channel State Information (CSI) in high-mobility 6G scenarios.
"With our approach, we aim to improve the reliability of future 6G communication systems operating in highly dynamic environments. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to discuss our findings with the international research community and gain valuable insights for the further development of AI-based communication technologies," says Dr. Mohsen Kazemian.
International Perspectives on the Future of Communications
The conference focused on the latest advances in next-generation mobile communications. Highlights included keynote talks on 6G communications, AI-enabled wireless networks, and energy-efficient IoT and satellite communication systems. The programme was complemented by technical sessions covering topics such as machine learning, network optimisation and future communication architectures.
