Research Results Put to the Test

GoProZero: Milestone Meeting in Paderborn

The GoProZero consortium at the 6th consortium meeting.

At the sixth consortium meeting of the GoProZero research project in Paderborn, the project partners presented their latest results, discussed new approaches and demonstrated how secure data exchange can work across industrial value chains.

How can digital technologies help make products more sustainable and resource-efficient? This is the key question driving the GoProZero research project. On 22 October 2026, all 14 partners from research and industry gathered for the sixth consortium meeting, hosted by Fraunhofer IEM in Paderborn, to share their latest findings and explore new ideas for their joint research activities.

The quarterly meetings provide an opportunity to coordinate project progress, bring together research findings and identify synergies among the partners. The meeting began with updates on the various work packages and the six industrial lighthouse projects.

Research Results Through Direct Exchange

A key highlight was an interactive gallery walk, during which the research partners showcased initial results through prototypes and discussed their potential applications and possible connections. The discussions sparked new ideas on how to effectively combine existing and future research findings.

“The practical results, combined with the personal exchange between partners, provide an ideal opportunity to create new synergies and complement each other's work,” explains Natalia Moriz, head of the Interconnected Automation Systems research group led by Prof. Dr. Henning Trsek at inIT, which is actively involved in the project.

Secure Data Exchange for Sustainable Business Models

Together with Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, inIT contributes to GoProZero through research on digital twins and interconnected data spaces. The aim is to establish a reliable and secure infrastructure that enables the development and economically viable implementation of sustainable business models.

A live demonstration at the consortium meeting showed how this can work in practice: The team demonstrated how secure data exchange between two participants in a value chain can be negotiated and carried out.

The next step will be to implement and test these concepts in an industry-oriented use case at SmartFactoryOWL.
