iWLAN: Echtzeitübertragung in IEEE802.11 Netzwerken

01.10.2005 bis 15.12.2006

In the Industrial Domain a rapid rise of interest in using wireless technologies can be registered.  Of crucial importance for the wireless segments used in realtime networks are the reliability, robustness and realtime ability. The method of a central Point Coordinators (PCF), defined in the past IEEE802.11 standard (WLAN), makes a deterministic access possible in principle, but the standard is in some parts not suitable. For this reason in this project the HCF (Hybrid Coordination Function) and the EDCF (Enhanced Distributed Coordination Function), which are described in the IEEE802.11e companion standard, are modeled and evaluated with a simulation study.

Another objective is the system integration of Wireless LAN to PROFINET-based networks. For this tasks we use our Linux based WLAN-AP and WLAN Client.
