The transformation of the mobility system towards post-fossil, automated and networked structures is crucial for achieving global climate goals and ensuring mobility as a public service – especially in rural areas. This article addresses the challenges facing energy and transport systems and outlines the approaches already being pursued and implemented in the OWL mobility region, as well as the planned next steps.
