Parkinson's Network OWL+ meets for the second time at CENTRUM INDUSTRIAL IT

The Parkinson's Network OWL+ (PNOWL+) has entered the working phase after its kick-off in spring 2023 at the CENTRUM INDUSTRIAL IT.

On 16.06.2023, the Parkinson's Network OWL+ meets for the second time at CENTRUM INDUSTRIAL IT.

On 16.06.2023, experts from different professions in medicine, health and care met for the second time to discuss topics such as communication, cooperation and exchange in a workshop. In three working groups, all aspects of the developed strategy were intensively discussed and a roadmap for the next years was defined. The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) will focus more on the topic of digital smartphone apps. The next event is planned for November 2023.

The PNOWL+ under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christoph Redecker has set itself the goal of sustainably improving the care and support of Parkinson's patients and thus enabling those affected and their relatives to enjoy a higher quality of life. To this end, the regional treatment network is being expanded, providers are being better networked and standardised communication is being introduced. The participating doctors, therapists, nursing staff and representatives of medical supply stores and self-help groups also receive support from business and science. In addition to patron Uwe Borchers from the Centre for Innovation in the Health Industry OWL (ZIG OWL), Prof. Dr. Volker Lohweg, head of the Institute Industrial IT at Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts, is particularly committed to this.

Prof. Lohweg, co-initiator of the network, emphasises: "For the benefit of those affected, it is enormously important that all actors pull together. We at inIT are happy to make our contribution with the further development of the smartphone app."
