Collaborations and knowledge transfer at CIIT: Prof. Jasperneite presented practical examples for joint projects at inIT

It has been known for some time at CENTRUM INDUSTRIAL IT (CIIT) in Lemgo that collaborations between Universities of Applied Sciences and partners from Industry are successful. Under the roof of CIIT independent research institutes like the Institute Industrial IT (inIT) work together with partners of the private sector. Together they develop solutions for Intelligent Automation. Also the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology NRW dealt with the question what are success factors and framework conditions for a successful collaboration of Universities of Applied Sciences and companies. In the middle of April, 150 representatives from Industry, Science, Politics, Administration Departments and Society met in Düsseldorf.

Svenja Schulze (Ministry NRW) emphasized the importance of collaborations between Universities of Applied Sciences and Companies.

Professor Jürgen Jasperneite (inIT and Fraunhofer Society) participated in the panel discussion together with Frank Marek (Director ISI Automation). They introduced the CIIT and emphasized the special collaboration at CIIT with all its chances and challenges. Also practical examples were presented.

At CIIT collaboration of Industry and Science is living reality: Competitors are jointly doing basic research in the field of future-oriented technology developing. Players like Institute Industrial IT (inIT) of OWL University of Applied Sciences, Fraunhofer Application Center Industrial Automation (IOSB-INA), Phoenix Contact, Weidmüller, ISI Automation, OWITA, MSF-Vathauer, Bosch Rexroth and Aventics benefit from the partnership and the comprehensive technology and knowhow transfer. Also Start-Up Companies can become established at CIIT in the future. 

On 18. April participants of the event discussed about worthwhile collaborations in teaching, research and transfer between Universities of Applied Sciences and companies. Ministry of Science NRW, Landesvereinigung der Unternehmensverbände NRW and Landesrektorenkonferenz der Fachhochschule extended the invitation. Minister Svenja Schulze emphasized the great potential of the application of research at Universities of Applied Sciences.
