From March 11 to 13, 2026, the “You Can! – Conference on Inclusion in the Workplace” was held at the Congress Center Leipzig. The event brought together experts from academia, the professional field, government, and business to discuss ideas and solutions for a more inclusive workplace.

Practical research at the joint exhibition booth

As part of the KI.inklusiv research project, inIT shared a booth with its project partners Wertkreis Gütersloh and delta3. Together, the team presented approaches for how artificial intelligence can support people with diverse abilities in their daily work.

The KI.inklusiv project is being carried out at inIT within the “Human-Technology Interaction” working group led by Prof. Dr. mult. Carsten Röcker. The goal is to develop AI-based assistance systems that support people with special needs during work processes, thereby enabling them to participate more fully in working life.

Exchange with practitioners and experts

The project team presented current developments on-site and discussed the specific applications of inclusive technologies with visitors from workshops for people with disabilities, companies, and research institutions. The joint booth provided many opportunities for direct exchange with other stakeholders in the field of inclusive work.

"This conference provides a valuable platform for discussing current developments in inclusive work and engaging with practitioners and researchers," said Prof. Dr. mult. Carsten Röcker. "Through our collaboration with Wertkreis Gütersloh and delta3, we can test our technologies in real-world work environments and develop them further together."

Ideas for Inclusive Workplaces

In addition to the discussions at the booth, the conference offered numerous insights into topics such as digital assistance systems, accessible work processes, and new forms of inclusive collaboration.
