Accompanied by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite and Faculty Community Manager Baboucarr Jarbo, international students on the Bachelor's programme in General Engineering and the Master's programme in Information Technology visited HANNOVER MESSE 2026 — the world's leading industrial trade fair.
This excursion has been a regular feature of the curriculum for years, organised specifically by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite. It consistently generates great interest among the students.
Focus on automation, robotics and future technologies.
The excursion centred on automation and robotics. At the same time, the trade show provided an in-depth overview of the latest technological advancements, with industrial and physical AI, digital twins, and quantum computing emerging as key themes this year.
Humanoid robot systems were particularly prominent, impressively demonstrating how rapidly technological possibilities are advancing, and how close many of these developments already are to practical application.
From Concept to Application
The students were particularly impressed by how quickly intelligent systems are adopted in practice. Technologies that seemed like science fiction just a few years ago are now an everyday part of industrial practice, bringing about lasting change to factories, companies, and entire industries.
Learning where innovation happens
The field trip highlights what makes studying at TH OWL so special: innovation isn’t just taught in theory, but is brought to life right where it happens.
