Professor Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Jasperneite is a member of the inIT board, professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at TH OWL, and director of Fraunhofer IOSB-INA in Lemgo. Since this year, another exciting task has been added, as Prof. Jasperneite holds a visiting professorship at Mid Sweden University in Sweden. There, he will teach and conduct research on "Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)" and industrial communication until 2023. During non-lecture periods at TH OWL, Professor Jasperneite gives lectures on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), knowledge and technology transfer, and science-to-business for the Swedish students at Mid Sweden University.
During his time at Mid Sweden University, the computer networking expert is a member of the Department of Information Systems and Technology (IST) and the STC Research Centre there. The STC (Sensible Things that Communicate) develops sensor-based systems and services for use in the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence. Research focuses on electronics and computer science, in particular on industrial IoT, next generation measurement systems and interactive functional surfaces. At the STC Research Centre, Professor Jasperneite will work with colleagues on current topics in industrial communications, such as 5G and 6G, develop joint projects and supervise PhD students. "I am excited about the new assignment as a visiting professor in Sweden and thank my long-time colleague Professor Mikael Gidlund, who is also at Mid Sweden University and brought this great opportunity to my attention," says Professor Jasperneite.
