Research Visit from Japan

On Friday, 25. January 2019 inIT welcomed a research delegation from Japan. The representatives of one of the oldest and biggest research institutes in Japan, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute (TIRI) are well known – this was already their second respectively third visit in Lemgo.

Dr. Lukasz Wisniewski (M.) and Peng Li (1. f. l.) from inIT and Dr. Sebastian Gerke (2. f. l.) and Roland Heß (3. f. l.) from Owita welcomed Dr. Seisuke Kano (AIST), Dr. Mamoru Ohara (TIRI) and Dr. Shinsuke Kondou (AIST) from Japan.

Research group leader Dr. Lukasz Wisniewski from Professor Jürgen Jasperneite’s working group and Peng Li from Professor Oliver Niggemann’s working group concretized plans for a German-Japanese collaboration with the guests from Japan in the field of Industry 4.0 at SmartFactoryOWL, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Also representatives of the partner company OWITA talked with the Japanese guests about a potential collaboration in joint projects.
