With our research, we would like to sustainably improve the care and support of Parkinson's patients in East Westphalia-Lippe and thus enable those affected and their relatives to enjoy a better quality of life. In the Parkinson's Network East Westphalia-Lippe+ (PNOWL+), necessary measures are to be identified and implemented to make a real difference to Parkinson's care in the region.
We are currently researching methods that help patients in everyday life to individually monitor their medication on the one hand and to control their walking behaviour on the other. Furthermore, with the support of large language models, we are developing effective writing of doctor's letters with a focus on idiopathic Parkinson's syndrome and stroke.
As a founding member of the Parkinson's Network East Westphalia-Lippe+, we as a research institute are in close exchange with practitioners.
