The largest IEEE Conference on Factory Communication

Industrial communication in focus for three days

The WFCS "Workshop on Factory Communication System" is the largest IEEE conference in the field of industrial communication and will take place this year from April 27 to 29. Originally, the three days were planned as a presence event in Pavia, Italy, but the Corona situation did not allow for a reliable planning basis. Therefore, WFCS will be held as a virtual event.

The focus of the conference is on industrial communication, such as wireless, sensor networks, Ethernet-based communication systems and 5G. This year, a total of 35 papers have been selected for presentations, which will be presented over the three days of the conference. The draft program can be found on the website at https://wfcs22.unipv.it/#program. In addition, an industry forum and three exciting keynotes are planned, one of which will be given by inIT board member and Director of Fraunhofer IOSB-INA Professor Jürgen Jasperneite. The title of his talk is "Quality of Service (QoS) communication present and the future". This year, inIT is co-organizer of the conference with Dr. Lukasz Wisniewski as General Chair. In addition, the Lemgo site is strongly represented in the organizing committee. Professor Henning Trsek (inIT) is WiP Co-Chair, Dr. Sebastian Schriegel (Fraunhofer IOSB-INA) is Industry Co-Chair and Benedikt Lücke (inIT) is Publicity Co-Chair. The conference already took place in Lemgo 10 years ago, so that the aforementioned persons bring a wealth of experience with them.

In addition to the lectures and keynotes, the organizing committee has also planned "socializing events" and there will be a virtual tour of the SmartFactoryOWL for participants. This should provide enough space for exchange and discussion despite the online event.

People who are interested in participating and are not authors can register for free until April 26: https://t1p.de/1od1l
