On 16 April 2026, the consortium partners of the it’s OWL project GoProZero visited inIT at SmartFactoryOWL. The partners meet regularly for consortium meetings to exchange new findings and work on new challenges. They were welcomed by Natalia Moriz, research group leader, and Philip Sehr, research associate, from the “Interconnected Automation Systems” research group led by Prof. Dr. Henning Trsek.

The GoProZero project

The consortium comprises 14 regional partners from the OWL region, representing both research and industry, and is part of the it’s OWL leading-edge cluster. GoProZero has the ambitious goal of enabling companies to achieve the transformation towards circular business models. In this context, inIT is developing an innovative tool that maps the infrastructure in Engineering Data Spaces in detail.

Constructive professional exchange

The GoProZero consortium meetings are characterised by a constructive exchange from which all project participants benefit. On 16 April 2026, there were also open discussion sessions between the 14 partners. During these, key assumptions of the circular economy and the added value of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and CO2 certification were critically examined and discussed in technical detail.

inIT research close to practice

Philip Sehr presented the partners a tool for the detailed representation of infrastructure in Engineering Data Spaces and received beneficial feedback from the industry partners on how these data can be meaningfully presented and analysed.

“Our research work is generally very close to real-world practice, so regular and intensive exchange between industry and research is essential,” said Natalia Moriz, leader of the “Interconnected Automation Systems” research group, on the importance of collaboration.

“The project partners in the consortium are committed and have understood the importance of the topic. This makes collaboration much easier,” adds Philip Sehr, research associate on the GoProZero project.

The GoProZero project will run until the end of 2027; the next meeting will take place in three months’ time.
