AMICO presents inclusive technologies at REHACARE 2025

AMICO: Solutions for a self-determined working environment

 

At REHACARE 2025, Alex Kuhn (inIT), Anja Große-Coosmann (Wertkreis Gütersloh) and Frank Schrapper (LWL Inclusion Office for Work) presented AMICO.

At REHACARE 2025 in Düsseldorf, the AMICO project presented its solutions for inclusive, technology-supported working environments. In collaboration with the LWL Inclusion Office for Work and Wertkreis Gütersloh, the project team showcased innovative concepts to promote greater participation.

AMICO: adaptive assistance for inclusive workplaces

The AMICO project – Adaptive Assistance System for Professional Inclusion – is developing a flexible software solution that adapts to the needs of users. The aim is to develop a platform with adaptive, disability-specific user interfaces that will be tested in practice and used in the long term in inclusive companies and workshops.

REHACARE: Leading international trade fair

REHACARE is the world's leading trade fair for rehabilitation, prevention, inclusion and care. This year, it attracted over 34,000 visitors from 88 countries. This made it the ideal setting for the AMICO project to present its concepts to an international audience of experts and interested parties.
 

Strong partners: Working together for greater participation


Alex Kuhn is a research associate in the inIT research group, 'Human-Technology Interaction', which is headed by Prof. Dr. mult. Carsten Röcker, Also presenting were Anja Große-Coosmann (Wertkreis Gütersloh) and Frank Schrapper (LWL Inclusion Office for Work). They presented the project and invited visitors to discuss the opportunities and challenges of technology-assisted inclusion — an invitation that was met with great interest.

Frank Schrapper emphasised the importance of dialogue: 'We were delighted with the interest, the exchange, and the positive feedback.'
Alex Kuhn added: 'Transfer and, in particular, external exchange are fundamental. This encourages us to develop more positive examples of inclusive, technology-assisted work in the coming months. REHACARE 2025 was therefore a complete success for us!'
