Mohsin Hayat

Mr. Hayat has been a research associate in Prof. Büker's Intelligent Systems research group at inIT - Institute for Industrial Information Technology since August 2024. His research focuses on the further development of intelligent systems for autonomous driving and computer vision, with a particular emphasis on AI-supported object recognition and identification methods.
His expertise in the field of artificial intelligence stems from his previous work as a data scientist at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences. Mr. Hayat brings specialized knowledge in the areas of machine learning, computer vision, and embedded systems integration to his current research initiatives.
• Since August 2024: Research assistant in the field of autonomous systems at the Institute for Industrial Information Technology (inIT), Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, Lemgo.
• May 2022 – July 2024: Data scientist at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, Gelsenkirchen.
• July 2020 – December 2020: Student assistant in the field of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) at the Center for Image and Signal Processing e.V., Ilmenau.
• October 2019 – March 2020: Internship in the field of machine learning at T-Systems Multi-Media Solutions, Dresden.
• Studied Media Technology (M.Sc.) at the Technical University of Ilmenau (2018–2021) with a focus on digital signal processing, video/audio coding, and computer vision.
• Master's thesis (2021) on “Deep learning-based damage detection on concrete roads” at the Neuroinformatics & Cognitive Robotics Lab, TU Ilmenau.
• Research project (2020) on deep learning approaches for the multiple classification of vehicles at the Fraunhofer Institute IDMT, Germany.
• 2010–2015: Study of electrical engineering (B.Sc.) at the University of Lahore, Pakistan.
