New special exhibition ‘A Kind of Art. Artificial Intelligence Meets (Weser) Renaissance’ at the Weser Renaissance Museum Schloss Brake

What do the dazzling age of the (Weser) Renaissance and the field of artificial intelligence have to do with each other? A surprising amount! In its cutting-edge special exhibition ‘A Kind of Art. Artificial Intelligence Meets (Weser) Renaissance,’ the innovative Weser Renaissance Museum at Brake Castle reveals surprising parallels and fascinating connections that hardly anyone would suspect.

‘Did you know, for example, that the world-famous universal genius Leonardo da Vinci developed an automaton more than 500 years ago? We have managed to obtain a replica and movable model of his “robot knight” on loan for the exhibition,’ says museum director Silvia Herrmann.

Numerous original artworks are also on display, such as ‘Minerva and the Muses on Helicon’ by Hans Rottenhammer and ‘The Cleansing of the Temple’ by Hans and Paul Vredeman de Vries. Here, too, there are exciting connections to the field of artificial intelligence.
